Posted by Ground State Best of both worlds... a great downstairs with lots of personality, and an upstairs full of decay. Tough one deciding which I like better.
|
Funny, we had the same discussion. The decay upstairs was perfection. The ground floor was like like time travelling to a time long gone.

I'm sorry, but NOTHING about this set impressed me. you were progressing on the photography front for a while, but looks like that has ended... other than that, not a bad discovery. not as cool as some of the Larger buildings you have visited.

A scant few of his sets impress. It is as if,you are taking the photographs, just to be seen and you aren't putting any effort or thought into it.

Thanks for more of that famous UER kindness nOOb, you'll fit in just fine on this forum if you can sustain the same level of negativity for long periods of time. And this was your very first post. Well done.

You take offense too easily.Stop and ask yourself honestly if you think you are taking the best pictures possible and go from there.

But, by saying "No comment", you are making a comment. Rather Ironic, no?

Not so. You are informing the person that you don't wish to address their question or statement while politely acknowledging that you heard them. As for the newb, This is the Urban EXPLORATION Resource, people don't have to have mad photo skills. They can post photos of their explorations and allow other people to interpret and appreciate their work. If said person doesn't appreciate their photography, they can always drive to the location and take their own photos of said location. I'm far from a great photographer but I know others appreciate my efforts, the decay, the stories behind the photos, and the passion for exploring. You can be part of the problem (armchair critics posting gripes) or part of the solution (regular photo contributions to the forum). You'll gain more respect for actually visiting a place and trying to take decent pics than you will posting just for the sake of tearing others down.

Thanks Intrinsic. I wish there were more people willing to stand up for others, as opposed to those that decide to tear people apart or insult. It's more about them than it is the person they are insulting. Appreciate your courage to speak your mind, (almost) always in a positive manner.
For the record to those that bully and attack me... I am a real person, not just a nickname with an avatar. I have been struggling terribly for several months and am currently locked in a psych ward having been diagnosed less than a week ago with bi- polar disorder. I'm devastated yet hopeful. But the truth is I could use some words of encouragement these days, instead of the same old negativity.

Hope you get better soon Jerm. I've always enjoyed your posts and look forward to meeting you again in the future. Don't let the trolls get you down, they're just looking for attention. All you can do is take it day by day buddy.

I was not tearing down anyone.I was offering some insight and my opinion of what I see when viewing this one person's photographs. No one needs to develop "mad skills" for taking a great "point of interest" photograph. If it takes a few seconds to go from an "ok" photo, to one that makes people say "wow" then why not take those extra few seconds or minutes? There are others on this site, that take fantastic photos and probably have less experience than most of you,so what makes their photos that much better? I would have to say that it is most likely that they put the time and effort into taking that one single picture, without mad skills.

No one is attacking you, that is your perception of the events and bringing up your personal problems to garner sympathy is a cop out.I am sorry you are having a shit time,I really am,but leave your personal issues out of the equation. Are you permitted to have your camera with you in recovery?

He did not ask for yours or anyone else's opinion on the quality of his photographs therefore, your original post was pointless and absolutely a personal attack. The fact that it was your first ever post and you don't know him is more to the point that you are a troll and have no business writing anything about the quality of anyone's pictures. You should fit right in with the rest of the children here.

Well,I figured since I'm being compared to her, someone would do the honor of explaining why,but I don't see what this has to do with photography or abandoned properties. It's friday though,so Ok,fair game.

Are you kidding me? Where the hell do you get off attacking someone on their work like that? The last UE related post of yours I can see was from 2012, and it was a bunch of clown-vomit HDR and some serious winners like this guy:
One of the best things about the Ontario forum lately has been the relative absence of punk shits like you. If you don't have anything productive to contribute, how about you make like a tree, and fuck off?

Since I was mentioned, seems only fair that I comment. Jerm, I have issues with you for many MANY valid reasons which are shared by quite a few other seasoned explorers that are not attention or media whores, and who partake in this hobby for other reasons than the simple "look at me, look where I've been". That being said, I'm not in the mood to go at it with you again. You know what I think, you're not going to change, the end. I have no comment on your current personal woes but I do feel they have no business here. Judy, don't be a fucking troll. You wanna give your opinion, fine, but start by showing you're worthy of an opinion to begin with. You want to critique others photog skills, then why don't you show us yours? Seeker, really? The whole world knows you hate Jerm. He's not going to change so just ignore and move on. I know you're still young but you're looking like a tool right now. Derelict, of course you'd say something like this. Jerm's current personal woes must really be hitting close to home for you. RNR, don't be all butt hurt and attacking because some of my good friends have cut you out. Your media whoreness and excessive need for attention have done that all on their own. All I did was share a few links, they came to their own conclusions. Doesn't help your cause when you spend more time on your phone than behind the lens while exploring - at least that's they told me. With that said, why doesn't everyone go back to what they were doing, I'll go back to exploring and ignoring all this crap. Peace Edit note: Erased redundancy
