And have you thought that maybe the place was boarded up because it was dangerous? Most places I find are boarded up because it prevents people from getting hurt if they decide to do something stupid.

well guys i had no idea it was so famous, it wasn't locked up nearly as tight as this when we went. in fact it was pretty wide open... ..i wonder if the massive amount of online outing had anything to do with the tightening of security? looks like it may have been posted on March 29th of this year to Obscura(thats when the likes & comments start on it), we went back in 2011. call me crazy but this only reinforces my position.

https://www.facebo...ts/185653698200910 It was posted on atlas obscure on February 2nd, 2012. That's a fairly long ago... And only shortly after the UER threads you linked to this spot were made. If anything, that should only help prove that posting anything at all regarding a location, is basically inviting internet detectives to try and figure out where it is. For the record, I don't really disagree with anything your saying here. There is no reason to include so much detail about a location when your posting about it. But to be fair, there are many posters, both new and old, that do this here on UER, regardless of rather the location is public or not. It seems to go with the territory of a forum like this.

Looks like a cool place.

the other thread on this place has been public for almost 3 years and not a single complaint in any of the responses. There is enough information in the opening paragraph to find out what and where it was to anyone who really cared enough to find it, just like 50% of the other threads posted in this region.

I KNOW RIGHT?! Imagine someone Googling "girlfriend" or "skunk" and finding something special like this!

i am the other yourself. "Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices? I've heard them calling my name. Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors. The voice might be one and the same. I've heard it too many times to ignore it. It's something that I'm supposed to be." http://www.flickr....orers/collections/ | |
