I like Radical Ed's comments the best.
He is one of the better members here, but I have to say:

I would not have minded a rejection from the OP if it was not mildly condescending towards me in virtually every reply, in the sense that they seemed to feel obligated to include some sort of alienating lecture or advice about "being new and/ or exclusive to UER"

I found this approach kind of pretentious, and it eventually led me to create the "Holier than thou.." post.

I mean... what is it? You don't recognize me on UER and therefore, you will never recognize me anywhere else??

In a nutshell, I don't care what the OP thinks if this is their kind of close minded thinking. I don't really wanna know what their kind thinking is, either. As long as the mafia will no longer be there to follow through.

All I know, is that I've only been on UER for a couple of months and have already hosted one successful UER event (if it even historically qualifies as that)... and it was totally awesome. It was the pride of the state I live in (Rhode Island) and the people who pooled the time energy see it.

What did you say here? It is against UER policy to delete the content of a comment without moderator approval.

Secondly, your shown reply is correct. You have to understand that the majority of the members here are pretty awesome people in real life. Just because they give you a hard time in a controlled environment means nothing. As I stated before, the members here are used to a certain way of life and they will foster that way of life to ensure its survival. It shouldnt be taken personally; it is just how it is. Your reply to this post after all the other posts signals a good thing and one that should be viewed as a positive response in the UER community. You didnt curse anyone out or rage-quit.

Let me tell you first hand that in my first few months here I got my share of flame posts, but when it was all said and done I now have friends for life.

This site has given me a network of people that I can not only rely on but also call friends.

Just roll with the punches.

His deleted message was comparing this place to North Korea. I don't see why it was deleted, and you're right that this is against the rules.

I talked with the OP in private message and this all started with one person not getting along with him. With the specifics known, it's pretty mundane. Blowing it up and aiming it at the general forum with no explanation was clearly a mistake. He said he doesn't really care about the original problem anymore, so there's not really much more to discuss.

Alright, I wasn't going to comment but seeing as I know it's me you're referring to in this very passive-aggressive thread I decided I'd throw my 2 cents in as well.

First off, lets start by mentioning how this all came to be.
You messaged me (Asking me about the Detroit meetup I'm hosting) saying "I would have to stay three days (at least) or it would not be worth it. Nearly all of my "long distance" trips have been four days."

To which I kindly responded and said sorry dude, it's only a 2 day meet up. If you're looking for a 3+ day stay, this isn't going to be it. Then I mentioned the dangers of exploring in Detroit (From what I've been told from locals, anyways) and mentioned that maybe once you became a little more well known on the site you could message one of the locals and see if they'll give you a tour.

Maybe that came off as rude and "Holier than Thou" but that wasn't my intention. What I was trying to do was encourage you to post more of your adventures, and get some more credit on here so that you could gain some trust and potentially unlock some doors with some really cool people.

To which you responded with something along the lines of "Oh I'm so glad you replied to this message 'cause you ignored my last one" <- I'd never received a previous message from you and I double checked to make sure. Then you continued on with the whole "I don't care about you, your event, or your acceptance." You also said having a "Uer Reputation" means nothing to you.

I then realized I'd upset you and apologized for it.. I tried to correct myself and make amends, Which you wanted nothing to do with as clearly shown by your following messages and your change of status to the Meet up with another passive aggressive comment.

The messages that followed were condescending and rude. As a direct quote from one of your messages "I pity you for the way you deal with certain people." After I'd requested you stop messaging me - which you didn't - I blocked you. I thought the drama was done until I saw this thread.

To continue on with my wall of text...

I believe I said you had "A lot to learn" about the way UER functions. I said "... You have to realize that UER is much like High school. You gain respect by giving it and being a part of the community (Contributing). As far as I've seen you haven't really posted many photos of your explores, and you've only been here a short amount of time. This hobby demands a lot of trust from it's members.

I welcome you to go alone with your friends, and spend 3-4 days there - hell spend as much time there as you want. I just thought it was a good warning to give based on the sensitive state of Detroit's urbex scene. There are lots of dangers that may not be known by the general public."

Of course, I should've known that trying to explain my actions was a lost cause because you instantly went into defensive mode and tried to prove yourself to me. Mentioning your meet up (as you have earlier on in this thread). The best part was when you said "The attendees were UER members, but they never post here."

Then the final thing you said to me before I blocked you was "The thing you need to remember is that I never cared whether or not you "accepted" me to your little event or not."

Which was never really what this entire thing was about. It started off with you asking me if the meet was going to be 3+ Days, and it wasn't. Still isn't. Never will be. I answered you truthfully and you got annoyed or mad, or whatever it was that caused this shit storm.

Okay, I'm done here. I just wanted to get some facts out there so that people were less confused about WTF is going on in this thread. (Yknow, besides some pretty awesome GIFs and boat photos!)

Might I ask that we close up this thread before it gets too far from a discussion and closer to a derision? I think Zod's learned what he has to learn at this point, Steed.
