Went for a hike with friends and their kids couple weekends ago. Wound up at an abandon mine. Armed the kids with my main lights and sent them off to explore. Didn't take much photos cause we were watching the kids.

The Kids found the guardian angel for the trip

4. 1 of 2 places where we can somewhat stand straight

9. Looking back out to one of the entrance 10. Far down as we can manage. The ice turned back to water, and left my rubber boots in the car. Good excuse for another revisit next time ;)

Thanks RashMan. It was kinda nice to have remote flashes simply just letting the kids wonder around with their headlamps hahaha.

Sweet location and shots!

The icicles are so super cool, and yet another sign of how much colder it has been this winter. There has been enough geothermal heat in there every winter for the past two decades that such formations have not been present. Totally incredible - look at how small and skinny the bases are on some of those!

Am I a little off to love this winter? Probably lol. Wow, I never knew it was that rare for here. Glad we were able to check it out. And Thanks again G.S. for this location. Definitely in my favourite top 3.
Thanks Audi
