Abandoned Amusement Park

Today I went down to the Abandoned Chippewa Lake Park for a little bit. We didn't stay long because there was snow on the ground, revealing our footprints, and there was a pretty high chance of us getting caught, but I was able to take a couple pictures of the old rides while I was there.

Those are actually really cool. I bet that I would be easily able to make something like that which I can attach to my boots. Thanks!

Same here, I live about 20 minutes away and everyone has said it had been cleared out for redevelopment. I guess that didn't happen

I'm not sure, but I think that they put the project on hiatus due to a lawsuit or something. There were a couple other rides and another roller coaster that were still standing, but I didn't have tome to go and take pictures of those.

Those are some cool pics all around. The pickup truck photo was actually quite funny for some reason and that Ferris Wheel and the remains of a roller coaster track (??) both look interesting.

So... did the retirement home fall through when the economy went belly up? Didn't get past cutting down the trees....

This is an awesome set. I hope I can go out there at some point.

The Wikipedia says that demo stalled because lawsuit, as stated here. Also that as of last fall the current landowners (post foreclosure post lawsuit I think?) are hoping to attract an investor to turn it into an outdoor venue and that some of the old structures might be saved as icons of the site's history. So maybe they won't be in a rush to bulldoze it.

Well, that's awesome. I'm definitely going to go back this summer and take some of the same shots. I love to put summer and winter shots side by side.
