Sorry but that's bullshit. Like a rejection of littering by dumping your trash in the street. There is nothing compassionate or sympathetic about this. The event organizer and everyone signing up is dragging him into the equivalent of the public square for mockery and derision. It's an unpopularity contest with one participant.
BFinan clearly has mental issues, and routinely pisses people off with his bullshit. Fine. He needs help, and deserves taking some shit from people. This enormously disproportionate display is neither helpful nor deserved.

While I see your point, maybe it's a good idea that the community chases him away, makes it clear that he's not welcome here. The guy is only going to bring harm to himself doing what we do, and really needs to stop.
I don't know the reason for creating the event, but if it is just to send more attention his way, then I disagree with it.

I've never met Bill in real life, but i've shared numerous conversations with him, and i've developed somewhat of an understanding of why he is the way he is. He's a good dude. Lost and misunderstood, but a decent guy, none-the-less.
The event itself and the way people treat him is unacceptable. Don't get me wrong, i understand why people troll him; those whom don't actually understand or know him what-so-ever.. but those who have had enough of an interaction with him ought to know better. Disgusting.
I know there are a few people on here that have explored with Bill. How was it? Was he really all that bad? (outing locations and online whining aside.)

I think if you think about it, that really is it. This guy has offered $8,500.00 to attend an event... Proof:
Now it is only a matter of time until some low-life accepts this and screws a kid out of money that he DOES NOT HAVE & should not be offering what equates to his life savings to an event. If you think the community is being hard on it then think of it like this... Would you want your grandmother to spend her savings to have a chance to appear on Jeopardy?
Now keep in mind he has ALREADY said he will post the places we show him online for others to enter and you get a toxic potion. He was just not meant to be part of this group. It is sad but true.

Yeah, its one thing to heckle a douche or troll but when someone has obvious mental issues its probably kind of tasteless to mock and deride them. Just ignore the guy and be thankful you have(most)of your wits about you.
