I signed up here a few months back and thought it would be appropriate to finally post an intro thread. I've been nosing around the cities for a short while mostly as a solo act and am now forcing myself to branch out and try to meet some new people. That's not like me... Anyway, I'm extremely interested in the underground and hoping to find a few people to join up with for below ground adventures (not drains unless they lead to something). That's not to say I have no interest in above ground adventure its just that being underground gives me a much greater thrill. I don't really know what else to say... I'm not looking to have my hand held and have the access points of interesting places pointed out to me but it would be nice to know what places (if any) are known to be completely sealed. Based on my thread digging and calculations I may be the 1 millionth MSP noob exploration hopeful. When can I expect my ticker tape parade?

Very little... Satan's, Fruen, a drain I don't know the name of (M 1921 S), Phalen Creek. Annnnnnd that's it!!! My hope is to find every underground location like Chutes, all the brewery caves, etc. and for that you need friends so here I am.

I wonder what the pitch of that sprocket is? I'm going to put it on my motorcycle and learn to wheelie!

I suppose it kinda looks like an amphitheater. It's got a couple water slides just inside and one in a smaller, higher up entrance. Bring your Speedo, FREE WATER PARK!!!

Yep, that's amphitheater.

You live in MSP, and you don't want to explore drains? Just move.

Welcome to the board. Can't say I've had much experience w/ underground exploring (excluding some basements) although I did look through the tunnels under the Packard Plant a bit...

I don't think I'm saying anything revolutionary when I say drains are boring. If I'm going to go for a long walk I'd rather walk through a forest than a death march through an unending tube with no remarkable features. The problem with that though is "if you don't go, you don't know" so for the time being I'll be hopeful to find a drain that takes me some place interesting like buried treasure or catacombs from the Black Plague. Move? I'm not going to rearrange my life and family around drains. There is no better place to live than the Twin Cities.

I was joking about moving. But.. There are super remarkable features in MSP drains. Just sayin'.
