UE Road Trip from Sonoma to Santa Cruz, tips plz?

Hey, guys! I'm planning a road trip from my home in Sonoma County to Santa Cruz and have some places on my list to visit, but could anyone recommend more places? I'd probably be traveling down highway 1 on may way to Santa Cruz and an abandoned farm, mansion and naval hospital I'm planning on checking out, but anyone have some recommendations on stuff I should check out?

I'm writing a book on abandoned places in California and this trip is strictly for that. So anything helps. Thank you!

I totally forgot this was against the rules. I am so sorry I should have been more aware.

I was just hoping I could get some tips and help on how to find more places for my trip.

Hope you don't give locations in the book.

Specifically? No. No addresses, just history and photos. Each chapter is dedicated to a different place in California.

Did you check the database? Along highway one you might find something. Also, if the mansion you're taking is near santa cruz its boarded up I believe. Do research, you can find a lot of place pretty easily if you look around the forums.

Thanks! I have and I've been writing ideas down, it's just hard to pin point exactly where places might be. I keep trying to track them on google maps before I head out so I don't drive aimlessly with no luck. Ya know?

Thanks for the tips.

Lot of ppl on here are anti-databse, or at least lead us to believe they are. I think we've all started part of our UE journey or trip planning by using the database at one time or another. A few of us have added new places to it in the past few years as well. remember, that not all entries are up to date and current conditions could be very outdated, or some places could be demoed all together and not updated in the entry log.

check out this thread link it's very valuable:

Sounds fun. Enjoy your trip.

The bixby bridge, the abandoned military bunker just south of Pacifica CA (see FiveAlive's recent posts in the PSW pic of the day thread, and the tunnel he posted. There seems to be some significant abandonment in and around Petaluma that you can see by just driving past, including a small motel I noticed. There's of course the Marin Headlands bunkers, Skaggs Island base might still be there, Sweeney Ridge Nike missile (don't know status of this) etc.

Thank you so much! I have driven through Petaluma before but I guess because I've been alone I haven't noticed. But I will have my roommate look now! I think Skaggs was torn down. But I could be wrong.
