Thought I would see how the ranks of our Jr. members came to find out about this wonderful paradise of decay...
Okay, GO!
The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark. |

I used to be active on "Visite interdite" a local forum which at one point had close to 1000 members. The admin turned into a complete douche and lost all his people, whatever. Long story short, it's via this forum that I discovered the existence of UER.

Google search for "Urban Exploring Forum"

I believe Andrew Wonder's UNDERCITY video finally got me to start looking at doing urbex instead of reading about it. This eventually lead me to Urban Explorers: Into the Darkness which lead me here.

I found my way here a little differently. I discovered UER some years back by looking through the external links stats for a Jeep club site I maintain (http://HigherGround4x4.com). Some weird pro-trespassing website all about something called urban exploration was linking to a trip report on the Sunflower Mine. That's where my rabbit hole began.

Ran into some explorers at Norwich in '08. They told me about UER. As soon as I got a computer, I registered.

I came across UER from the Wraiths (Jester's website), at the time a mirror forum of UER existed there.

I found the Infiltration Forum doing a search for Byberry back in the early 2000's.
"Are you happy now with all the choices you've made?" "Are there times in life when you know you should've stayed?" "Will you compromise and then realize the price is too much to pay?" "Winners and losers... which one will you be today?" ***Social Distortion*** |

Was home near Youngstown, Ohio however long ago. Local radio station did an April Fool's gag about Idora Park reopening and folks went to line up. I googled Idora Park, found sexy pics, and then found the UERs. Chat used to be a riot, now I don't visit it anymore.

I'd been reading infiltration for a few years before UER existed but never really joined up until many years later since I'm more of an armchair explorer and heritage nut and less of a photographer or frequent explorer, so I figured I wouldn't have much to share on a UE forum anyway.

Hm. I remember trying to find more information about Six Flags (NOLA) through Google. I think that UER's NOLA Six Flags is private, so I couldn't see anything...but, thought the database was interesting. Stayed around for a while before I actually joined...

Met someone while at a location and she mentioned it, then was asked on a forum if I was a member here. Figured I'd best check it out since I'd heard about twice in one month.

These forums were suggested to me by a local MN website. Turned out to be a great suggestion!
