Neat find, Techno! What exactly were they stopping, locking and testing?

I'm unsure comrade. Maybe it's the new dance craze?

This is A standard procedure to lock out any equipment that you need to work on as to prevent it to be energized. This apply to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, and thermal energy source.. Once the equipment is locked out, you test it. Some electrical equipment might store some energy even know the power source is disconnected. Or there might be secondary ways to activate the equipment.

Its no different then disconnecting a saw before changing the blade, except you might not be near the power source. So this prevent accidental or in some case, automatic activation.

At one point the tallest dam in Canada, and associated powerhouse.

Yaaas! Dam(n)! That's pretty sweet. And looks like it would be a little daunting due to its size.

I haven't been transmitting lately, so i needed a fresh dose of RF. Poor quality image, but it's looking towards Vancouver. I'll be over there in the spring for some fresh mayhem.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

I found a really old one room school house today. Here's a few pics from the inside. I think that machine is an old radio??

Another little gem I came across last weekend. I had read about a small town that was half abandoned so wandered around a bit.

I had my first outfall experience yesterday. It's a super small one so we weren't in there long. It was cool to see all the street art in there with some pretty old dates on it. It wasn't totally frozen yet either. I got to test out my new waterproof boots. ;)

Just got back from a 4 day motorcycle trip through the southern Pacific Southwest with my father and uncle. Will be posting more detailed explorations of each location in the appropriate regional boards today, here's a link:

That might be an old gas heater, based on its entirely metal construction, many vents, and isolated internal equipment. I remember seeing one a long time ago in my grandpa's attic and it looked much like this.

Cool! Thanks for that! It would actually make more sense given that the building is small and up here in the great white north, which would need heating in the winter. It was at the front of the class room and no fire place that I saw. Interesting! Totally fits.

I decided to check out a location from the DB yesterday. I didn't know it existed, despite living here forever, and it seemed easy enough...like noob level! Let's just say winter probably isn't the best time to go unless you have microspikes and I didn't think to bring mine. I have a few sore spots this morning. lol It's nothing to do with the explore but everything to do with hiking around not being prepared. I wiped out in my driveway too this morning since it rained here last night...wtf?!? So bizarre!

Anyway....it's a much photographed location but here's a few from me. By far the biggest homeless camp I've ever encountered too. Nothing like a room with a view. Amazing what's hiding in plain site if you just choose to look.

When I was there last my party accidentally snuck up on a man meditating on one of the platforms. Let's just say opening your eyes to my unexpected mug is hard on the inner peace.

Any yet you're one of the chillest guys around

I followed a deer trail in believe it or not. Lots of signs of other human wildlife but I didn't actually see anyone down there. Most of the camps seemed abandoned.

I saw the hugest woodpecker on that trail. Thing was the size of my forearm! Here's my photoset, give you an idea of what it looks like without all the snow.
