ok, i have about had it with this group. dont get me wrong, any asshole who tries to kill the leader of our country (current one inclded- i dont like him but...) needs some serious ass whoopin. but if the brady "bunch" is gonna try to reinstate the awb of 95(?) then at least get the nomenclature correct.

Couldn't agree more. It makes my blood boil listening or watching anti-gun propaganda like that. "Assault Weapon" is another term that drives me insane. There is no such thing as a damn assault weapon. It was generally "invented" by Nancy Pelosi, VPC and everyone involved with AWB '94. Unfortunately the moniker stuck and it's used everyday now. Grrrrrrr.

Obviously I am biased, but I just don't get the assumption that guns are inherently dangerous and need to be abolished. I've been around guns since birth, but I was taught to respect them. My dad never had his guns or ammo locked up when I was a kid. I knew exactly where both were and knew how to operate them, but never once did it ever cross my mind to pull one out to "play" with, nor did I even go near them without dad by my side.

See! You got me all fired up and pissed off now. ;)

This always bugs me too. A magazine is a place where ammunition is stored. Just like in the old days when forts had a "powder magazine", where all the shot was kept. People dont seem to understand clips are just something to hold ammunition so you can rapidly load a magazine be it a detachable or internal magazine.

On that note, the old top stripper loaded weapons don't really have magazine wells because the magazine is internal and contained in the device, a magazine well is where you insert a magazine.

Oh, and have you guys heard? We have heat seeking bullets now! Thats what incendiary means! Learn new things everyday!

2.a. the awb of 94 (thanks) defined the term "assault weapon" for the rest of us lemings./ see kaliforias laws (some are just plain stupid in my eyes- i own a rifle that youd not be let over the state line just b/c it has a pistol grip stock... its ONLY feature that kali says make it an assault weapon. and its mate sports a target style stock. the metal parts ARE THE SAME! the action is the same, the same mfg of trigger parts, and barrel, same optics, same damn ruger receiver.


soldat, thanks for the magwell def, as i see my shotgun has a magazine tube (+3) btw, as well as a pistol grip stock- another 1 that kali wont let in.
