Thoughts on the legality of the issue at hand.

Personally I prefer not having to look over my shoulder the whole time I am at a site. I also enjoy getting to know the history of a site, often this is only possible on a tour.

What about the "thrill" of trespassing? Like all explorers I do like seeing things that few others see and being in the forgotten and empty spaces. If I didn't I wouldn't explore in the first place. Unlike some however I get no thrill at all from breaking the law. None. Will I do it if necessary? Of course, but I see it as more of a means to an end. To me the thrill lies in the discovery. Breaking the law (trespassing for example)to me is an annoyance at best, (the previously referenced "looking over your shoulder") and at worst it could mean expensive and long lasting legal repercussions.

Do the above statements make me a heretic to some on this site? Probably. Do I care?

Not even a little bit.

When I am at a site without permission I will carry credibility props but rarely a camera, I consider them a liability. If there is one thing I do not like it is running, jumping, climbing, etc. while carrying expensive camera gear. You may very well have to do all of the above while being chased, or to avoid being discovered. I have.

If I have permission to be at a site I get to see what I came to see fine, I'm happy, I might even snap some pictures since I'm not concerned with what is and isn't a liability in this setting.

In this world though if you want into most of the best places you have to make your own road. That's fine, I'll do that too. The majority of my outings actually fall into the find your own entrance category.

I'm not a ninja, I don't have l33t skillz, nor am I a mad haxor.

What I am is someone who gets in by getting permission or otherwise, sees what I came to see, and gets out, and if I can do all that without getting caught what else do I need to be?
