Hmm.

"The manufacturer of the world's most popular hunting rifle has been wrestling for decades with a critical safety issue, and at least twice considered a nationwide recall of the gun, according to corporate insiders and internal documents revealed in a ten-month CNBC investigation.

But the Remington Arms Company has never alerted the public to the internal concerns, and insists the gun is free of defects, despite thousands of customer complaints."

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

interesting! Im sure there has to be an element of improper maintenance on these weapons and accidents occurred. How often do you take apart trigger mechanisms and clean them? Ive seen 700s beat to hell and never heard of an accident with any one of em.

I can understand a gun going off by accident and shooting someone in the foot by whilst carrying it or something but this: "killed on a family hunting trip when his mother's Remington 700 went off as she was unloading it"

who points a loaded gun at anyone, especially their own nine year old? even if their "hand was nowhere near the trigger"

Its to bad their son died but I don't think this was the best example to use

I've had my 700 for 25 years without complaint. The MOST important safety is your trigger finger anyway.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.
