Ever get one of those friends that becomes way too obsessed with an ex or significant other to the point where they have to give you a 24/7 play-by-play of their every move? I just told off someone like this because he wouldn't STFU about a girl that's been ignoring him for the past few months. All the time he'd send me texts like:

"FUCK (name) seriously. She posted she got some great top grade on some class & being nice I congratulated her & all; & she ignored it. Fuck that bitch"

"Why won't (name) talk to me???? I've been so nice to her and now she wont talk to me. No one will ever love me. I'm just gonna be alone"

"(name) BROKE MY HEART!! WAHHHHH"

He's older than that. I doubt age has anything to do with that. Emotional maturity if anything.

It rarely goes away if it persists beyond 25.

I work with one person in particular that's living proof and he's older than I am. He has like 5 people watching his ex girlfriend and got a cellphone just so he can get texts from them. He's 38. Seriously.

All you can do is just delete the messages and maybe change your number. Well, that's what I would do anyway.

When I'm upset I sit alone, read a book, do something dangerous, go exploring (usually ends up being something dangerous), or I disappear for a few days or weeks.

I do whine a bit...though hugs are better than whining.

Also, alcohol and cigarettes are better than whining.

Yeah, for a while, after I met Shutterbug, I would bitch about a former girlfriend who treated me like dirt (which explains why she's an ex girlfriend). After a while, Shutterbug pointed out that I'm wasting time and breath and letting this person continue to hurt me even though she's no longer in my life and if I enjoyed that, then I should look her up and get back with her. Tough but necessary smack in the head. I finally got through this and found myself better able to enjoy my relationship with Shutterbug.

That's actually pretty scary... obsession like that generally doesn't end very well
