Undergrounda and Grounderundaz BOGUS Adventure...

Hey Hey!

So UNDERGROUNDER and myself where a little bored and still coming down of the "exploration high" we contacted from the Millbrook Jail/POW camp after the UER meet in T.O...So we took off to our favorite hike spot to get some pics.

This farmstead has been around for a long long time in our area and it's definitely a relic from when this part of Ontario was RURAL in every definition.

"The Moore Bros." farm was almost completely run in it's prime via steam-powered engines (Tractors that looked more like trains)...and was one of the largest agricultural operations in the area. Most of the original equipment was refurbished and refit about 20-30 years ago by the youngest living son "Fred", for display at a steam show which is held yearly in Blyth, ON by the HURON PIONEER THRESHER & HOBBY association INC. link http://www.blythsteamshow.on.ca/

A Tractor-train doohickey-fangdoodle farm implement!

Anyways...I was bored and doing some experimental Photoshopping and playing with our Cameras setups. Add to that the fact that I deal with my artistic insecurity with childish humor and VOILA! Our pics...

PLEASE feel free to criticize, as long as you hit me up with hints on how to fix!
I'm green as grass when it comes to photography...

Good stuff! The only photoshoping I would recommend would be to make your whites a little whiter. It can easily be done with a curves adjustment layer. It's just the snow looks a little grey. Then again, it could just be the way this site manages the file. Hope that's a little helpful. If you need some more info, just drop me a line.

Cheers!

Thanks E-Photog...Yeah I was trying briefly but I kept washing out the detail, the snow was frozen over and you can see the wind-ripples but every time I tried to bring it around from being so dreary I would lose all that. Maybe just a minor nudge in curves would make it better... Are you saying separate the areas of snow into a new layer and make an adjustment layer using curves for it? Can't really try and balance the contrast too (with it as a complete photo) without cooking the whole photo so that makes sense! HaHa... Haven't gotten into that much yet...And I've noticed I tend to just drag the sliders wildly when just a tiny touch of adjustment is all that really needs to be made

It may help to use a mask to apply the adjustments just to the snowy areas. Mask are great if you know how to use them =P

Maybe it's the good ole reservation tobacco in Ontario but those last pictures of that ladder especially gave me some chills. I love your photos! I'll be watching your posts. Great stuff!

Thanks m8 I wish I hadn't made that photo black and white now...It was this rubbed-out red color almost like it had been stained. Would make a nice decoration in a timber-framed old country home we thought...

I always shoot in color, I just play with them at home later. And that picture would still make a great print. It would go nice with my style that i have going because everything is black and white so using the black and white allows for one to use several themes tied together that wouldn't otherwise fit. So it's no loss, print it and sell it, I'll buy one ;)

Rust is cool to shoot, kind of absorbs light bring non-reflective anymore in a really neat way. I hate it on my cars though. Love/hate relationship.
