DUMBASS TEACHERMAN! AEEGGG!

My math teacher is so motherfucking stupid. What happened was that during a quiz he had two sections, a written and a short answer. In the short answer there was a question that was sort of like this:

I isolated the other irrelevent details and showed the huge, gaping flaw. See it? (all angles in a triangle must be equal to 180 degrees). Yeah. He also had another question that was physically impossible so it gave two answers mathematically. Now, the short answer was 13 marks while the written was around 8. I skipped over the wierd ones to work on the longer written questions (2 questions on written). I finished them perfectly and HE FUCKING OMITTED THE WRITTEN! ARRRGG!

And before this I lost a mark on a test because I handed in my test early and he later said thta his definition of biweekly was twice a month, not twice a week.

Now look at this: http://www.merriam...ictionary/biweekly

and he kept on avoiding the fact that HE WAS WRONG and he DIDN'T ACCEPT MY MOTHERFUCKING ANSWER. This really enraged me because he's international and IS ES-FUCKING-L!

Oh, by the way, I'm not in the public school program, I'm actually PAYING for this BULLSHIT! (I'm in the IB Diploma program for those who are curious)

Are you sure the teacher was not labeling the convex side of the triangle? That would make the angle inside the triangle 130 degrees and certainly possible.

+1, that's how i read the question at least.

Biweekly (as opposed to semiweekly) means every two weeks, which works out to about twice a month.

If x^2=4, x=2 OR x=-2. It's totally allowed for math problems to have multiple solutions.

You did get screwed on his choice of which questions to grade though.

Wrong.

Biweekly - occurring twice a week

Fortnightly - occurring every two weeks

Actually, that's not really accurate...

Biweekly can mean every two weeks AND twice weekly - HOWEVER it's primarily in the UK that infers biweekly as meaning twice weekly and therefore a regional anomaly.

Twice as week, as you mention above, is more officially known as "semiweekly".

Kudos to you for taking on classes like that. I suck at math and could barely make it past algebra so I am no help there.

Now for the bi-weekly thing. My employer says that I get paid bi-weekly and the check shows in my account every 2 weeks. LOAN PYMT BIWKLY shows on my bank statement. My car loan payment gets sucked out of my account 2x per month right after my check gets deposited. So in a nut shell I smile 2x per month and frown the very next day. Hope that helps.

I had always thought biweekly should mean twice a week, but every official use of it I have heard has meant every two weeks. What is worse is that biannually means twice a year, and every two years is semiannually.

English is not the best designed language. I imagine the mixed latin, germanic, and norse roots makes a consistent set of rules impossible.

I agree and am very glad that I learned English as a first language.

I'm 100% sure. There were more angles in the original diagram that I omitted (3 lines coming from radius and the other two angles were labelled)
