First Saturday Off In A While
entry by karenjerzykphoto

I had my first Saturday left open free to explore in a very long time.

I already posted photos of my "adventure" yesterday in the Northeast forum, and don't feel like writing a huge journal entry, so here are a few key points:

1. Checked out an abandoned gas station in Hooksett, NH. Nothing too special. With have to gain entry at night. Too much traffic.

2. Took some photos of the Hobo-Sewer-Drain in Manchester, NH. I attended both places alone. This location is a bit scary because you have to scale down a VERY steep hill...Lose your footing and you plummet into the rover below. It's also very hard to climb down the concrete into the mouth of the sewer. I panicked- having my camera on me made me 50 percent less agile. I was surprised that there were still thousands of flies in the sewer this time of year...Usually the bugs are gone by now.

3. Picked up Chuck and took photos of "the crack shack" in Merrimack, NH. Never had a tick on me in my LIFE (as far as I know), despite being a tomboy and always playing in the woods. Looked down on me while driving and had about 50 on me. Freaked out. Luckily (knock on wood) none planted themselves in my skin.

And that's about it.
