314 House
entry by Aubery
4/2/2007 4:16 AM

This is a house El Guerrouj found that we have been wanting to get into since we saw it. Well we finally got to this Saturday. This also was the first exploration for El Guerrouj's fiancéé. We got to the house about 10:30 and as we expected, had trouble finding parking. After driving around awhile we just backed the car up really close to house, but pretty far from the road. Hopefully this will be the only one that we will have to park on-site. Well we got to the back door and started checking around in the windows. When we first looked through the windows we saw a bunch of blankets, old clothes, rags, ect... Our first thought was that someone still lived there, or there were vagrants. After a more thourough look we concluded no one was inside. Right as we went to open the door and go in my phone started to vibrate, effectively scaring the crap out of me. Turned put to be my g/f getting off work. Told her I couldn't talk, that I was literally just about to enter a site. After the brief conversation, we made our way in. There was crap everywhere. Junk was all over the place. The decay of the house itself looked pretty old, but the junk was relatively new. We found a NASCAR poster from 2005, and a bunch of more recent magazines. We found an edition of Game Informer that had a completely different address on it so we were thinking maybe vagrants were using the place. Beer cans, liquer bottles, and candles led us to believe some partying and gone here. Plus kids had written stupid messages on the walls with sharpie. Upstairs we found a brand new mattress still in plastic, a tv, and a bunch of notebooks, school stuff. The bathroom floor was rotting and the fixtures were smashed up. The basement stairs were gone, but as El Guerrouj started to climb down into the basement, his fiancéé got worried, so he held off for now. After exploring all the areas of the house, jumping at different noises, and hiding from the cars outside, we proceed back outside to the barns and sheds. Most of them were full of trash and the others were collapsing. We did find a neat little pond with picnic tables near it. After that we called it a night. We didn't get any pics cause it was dark. This was more of a straight exploration than a photo trip. We would like to go back during the day for pics and also maybe without his fiancéé so we can get down into the basement. Another great thing is we found two more abandoned houses off of side roads less than a mile from the original house. Maybe we can go back when we got to those houses and get pics of them all. Well till next time.
