If you are civil and make constructive posts, you have no worries of being banned. No... you banned the people that wanted to help ya brother. Fine bunch; now gone. None of them I would consider "trolls". They had a lot of time invested in this time warp and had strong opinions; I don't blame them.
As for deletions, those same people would have locked a thread , deleted posts just to preserve the content quality.

Ninj would have deleted ALL the "AV signs " pics.

Now mods don't do well.... anything.. except discuss "policy issues" like they were a member of parliament or something.

Us humans have made such progress. We sit hundreds of miles from each other and fling insults. What happened to just sitting around in a circle and picking the fleas off each other and eating them? I'm sure it solved much more problems.

It's so easy to be pissed off at people and misunderstand people, and be hurtful and be hurt when they aren't actually there. I think some face-to-face interactions would do this community a lot of good right now. You and Jester and whoever else really need to kiss and make up, and you're not going to do that from opposite sides of the continent by making snide comments on your respective websites. Come to OPEX, meet old friends and new people, explore some places, drink some beer, have fun, and renew this cesspool of politics with what it's actually about.

Not one damn person in this thead has demanded that Av do anything, nor done anything other than STATE THEIR OPINION. So, when you guys come into threads like this and constantly state the obvious over and over, you don't do a damn thing to help the conversation. In fact, you just help derail it, because then everyone has to stop the debate to defend themself from your ridiculously obvious statement.

The reason I've said this multiple times, and said it especially on this thread is to:

To show support for the owner, and person who put most of this site together. Yes this one mere fact entitles Av to a certain measure of respect I wouldn't show to everyone. What he did was/is hard to do. Try to run a business successfully for 3 years. You will probably fail on your first attempt.
If Av wants to put his feet up, and sleep all day, he's earned that perk the hard way. Life's not fair, get use to it.

To show those who are screaming bloody murder, calling for reform; that this is that reform, and I for one am not loosing sleep over it. I miss Chainsaw, and a few others, maybe they will be back. The hard-core trolls; I'm glad their gone.

White Rabbit you'll notice not once did I use my favorite word here, yet. It's counterproductive to use it in a charged atmosphere such as here unless your trying for a brute force approach. That technic doesn't work if your shit is weak. It's use indicates a certain amount of lack of respect, and the idea that your commands will be obeyed is mildly amusing. By invoking the fuck word's use inappropriately also allows me to do what I'm doing now.

If you like to see positive change on the site it works better if you ask nicely, and don't expect it to happen, but be pleased if it does. In the short time I've been here, I've done just that, and seen positive results. This means Av, and most of the mods are trying; they deserve respect, and some space to do their work. This last paragraph bares repeating so I did.

Oh for God's sake, was ANYONE in here screaming bloody murder at Av? Don't bother answering, because no one was. This was one of the most civil policy debates I've ever seen on UER, yet you guys still come in here saying, "This is Av's site!" Like we don't know that, and like we're making demands on him. If you want to debate why you think UER doesn't need any change, debate it. But don't come into a civil thread where NO ONE was making demands and accuse everyone of something they OBVIOUSLY weren't doing.

And yes, many many people (some of them now banned) have tried to force me to run this site a certain way. Not ask kindly, not simply state opinion, but force.

I'll give you an example:

UER member and moderator Chainsaw, shortly before he was banned, got it into his head that he needed to show some sort of "vigilante" force. He took over AvChat, kicking out all of the mods, and started a "revolt" channel, with participants Mike Dijital, Seicer, Jester, and others.

Luckily I came in at the right time to stop it, but had I been 5 minutes late...

Chainsaw was about to give up his moderator's username and password, to the people in the channel. He instructed the members to log in with his credentials and use his moderator powers to delete and modify posts, spam the site, and in general cause as much chaos as possible.

To make matters worse... moderators have access to a wealth of private information about you. They can see your IP(s), all posts you've made in private boards, any deleted posts or threads, private Full Member system comments, and some even more sensitive data.

Had this account been given over to the likes of Mike, Jester, and Seicer, I don't think any of you would have been safe.

To those who would say "But those people are trusted explorers, they would never go crazy with my private information", think again. As we speak, Mike Dijital and Seicer are constantly creating new accounts on this site, and spamming the threads full of photos of me and other people. None of these photos are public -- they were obtained through private channels, and it's disgusting that these people don't respect my and other people's privacy.

So: Don't tell me they were merely posting opinion. If I hadn't been there, Chainsaw and his band of hooligans would have trashed this site.

Furthermore, you are off your rocker when you dismiss me and other Av-X supporters as "brown nosers". I have raised issues and concerns of mine with Av-X and one or two moderators in the past, but I have done so in PM and CIVILLY. This is quite different than the drama-laden nonsense I see in some of the threads on the forum - which is nothing more than posturing to impress sandbox buddies. You can affect change without a three ring circus, y'know?

But believe it or not, Mr Rabbit, I really do basically like this site the way it is. For a lousy $5 a month I get more enjoyment out of uer.ca than I could ask for. That's not brown nosing; it's just the plain truth. And as I said, my opinion is anchored by past experience (albeit in a very small way) as a sysop, knowing what the pressures of the job can be like. So pal, if you don't like what I have to say, I'm sorry. But don't doubt its sincerity for a single minute.
