Almost.........
entry by MindHacker
4/30/2006 5:19 AM

Starttime: 5:16am 4/29/2006;
Anticipated end: 6:00am 4/29/2006
Target: Rich peoples home, w/ sweet masonry and arches. mainly for the arches.
So I got up at quarter till 5am today. frikin 5 am. Thats 3 hours of sleep. ewww. Anyways, Dressed in bdu bottoms and a dark grey fleece top, and jogged over to where my girlfriend (flibbertigibbet) lives. Waited a bit for her to show up, and it's off into the woods and through a field as light begins to hint at showing up in the eastern sky. Barely.
We drop 5 feet over a wall into the yard of the construction site we intend to look about, and cross 150yds infront of the occupied house, next to the stream. Water covers the sound of our footsteps, and after jumping a seasonal marshy ditch type thing, we come at the house from the opposite side.
There's lights on inside. WhoThaFa works on houses at 5:40 am? I mean really.
So we get close, check the windows, and see that it is only worklights that have been left on. Weird. The swimming pool looks like it should be good too. After dismissing a snoring sound as a bug, we examine the house for ways in. The doors are locked. screw. All the windows are in. Why??? Why did we wait too long??? A promising door hidden doorhandleless looms behind a sheet of cardboard, but they have it secured, my guess is nails/wedges from the inside. (Anyone (esp those in residential construction) have any ideas?).
Another promising entrance, unsecured upstairs windows, prove to be a fake as the mechanisms have them all locked "not-quite" in, as I found out after scaling the scaffolding.
We gave up.
No windows, garage doors, real doors, the front door has niether handle nor hole, nothing would give us a useble entrance, and B&E when it's actually breaking things people use is actually immoral, (as opposed to abandoned, to-be-demo'ed E&E).
So we went back and slept till eleven.
Egress Time: 6:10ish
Status: Unsuccessful

I tried it foxtwo style, just for him. Twas fun. I think I'm going to go back when the contractor is there and just wander in and ask some questions. If it was an option, social enginneering would be my major.

Haha, thanks MH. You get some credit in that you woke up in a daze and slept till 11. Thats true ExploreCorp style.

You should have gone hardcore Jester style and like, opened a window or walked through a wall or some crazy Wraiths crap.

Good job on the attempt though Good luck on the next try! Report back soon.

If you spot a terrorist arrow, pin it to the wall with your shoulder.

I'm not wraiths leet yet. Yet. They are basically my hero's though. I thought about trying the chimeny but theres no way its actually that small. I woulda felt better about it if it was more than 100feet from an "active" house. My guess is they wouldnt like to walk up at 10-till 6 to a loud pounding/crash.

One day, the small 1" cracks will be enough for me to ooze through, and all shall be in awe. Something like that.

I'd have tried unscrewing something or opening something obvious.
