|  | | | This is directly from the highest echelons at HQ SBC, The Mouse Himself. If you really want to not piss people off and even possibly make some friends, do a bit of research first. It shows that you are even a little bit commited to exploring. Exploring IS doing research on sites, scouting, and finding your own way in. Don't expect the old schoolers to do it for you. Nobody likes a lazy useless person. And whatever you do don't get an attitude with the people in the know, it really isn't going to get you anywhere. Remember some of us have done this once or twice before and might even know something. And if you had a few explorations under your belt, we might even be willing to trade info. We don't need 50 threads every week on picking locks, get a book and some picks, that's what everyone else has to do. If you're serious, just STFU and do it, spend $30. If you want to know how to enter a building, that's a no brainer, don't waste time asking. Each one is different, yet so many of the same principals apply. If you have to ask this question, it's time to hang up the ninja gear and take square dancing lessons. If you think you need a mask, then just get one, they say on the box what they filter out. Plus they make you look cool, even if you aren't. Everyone has them, it must be required. They do not filter out farts. I know from experiences in the past with The Mouse, stupidity doesn't go over very well. If you can't say anything smart, keep your darn mouth shut. It will take people longer to figure it out that way. You will learn more by listening than talking too. You need to think for yourselves. Show some initiative, it will earn you more respect than "Go screw yourself and tell me what I want to know!" Even I was the FNG once and I had to prove myself, it takes time. In the Command, the beer is earned, never given.

I would even go so far as to pin this or something similar, for the noobs and unknowns that pop-in and want to know where to go, what to break into, how to break into it etc.

110% true. I was new once and never started any board asking questions like those. I sat back and watched for a while to get the sense of how things were working around here. I sure hope the newbies would do the same!
