Relax. DavidE has been around, and all is well. He's not trying to set you up dude.

I know,I know.was'nt even thinkin like that.
I just don't understand why anyone would ever
want to represent themself with or even identify
with that at all.Maybe i'm just bitter from some
of the abuses i've had the mis-pleasure of
enduring over the years from some of SF's finest.
thats all.No worries!
I'm sure you are a super cool guy and look
forward to finding those tunnels with ya!
till then.

I think that the main reason he clearly states it is so that people don't find out and assume the worst.

I went to school in SF (years ago), and used to hear the rumors about the underground tunnels, etc...

The rumors I heard usually stated that the entrance to these tunnels originates in one/many of the basements in China Town.

Not trying to perpetuate the rumor, just telling what I know.

personally I don't believe there is a network of tunnels that exist. (other than bart, sewers, drains, etc...).

If there were tunnels I believe they were destroyed in the '06 quake and never rebuilt.

Some interesting subterranean reading material for the city of San Francisco; none suggest anything besides either collapsed, sand-filled tunnels or tunnels already in use by MUNI or other subway traffic.

I know people that have run around the water tunnels under SF with gas masks and wading boots...apparently smells like sewer and is interesting. But I imagine that most of the folks on here have been better places...?

I like Temescal Tunnel a lot personally.

rcsAm I missing something? What spurred this post?
What spurred this web-site?
I guess that people like myself, enjoy sharing their
experiences,ideas,photo's,and speculation about
such things as the topic of this post.Which has long
been rumoured to exist in some capacity or other, but
never having been proven by solid testimony or photo's.
So if there is something about this post that you
feel you are missing, then maybe you were looking at
it with your eyes closed?????or maybe one eye??

Yes they are around and I used to go in tunnels in SF and smoke out with friends, but that was years back...

If I recall correctly, they locked the entries to most of them, then again who knows if they are slacking and left a few open.

To be honest, it smells like ass and there really aint much to explore other than dark tunnels and a few nice graff sites... other than that, bum central so roll out with a knife and be pre paired to fight..

no joke.. they think you are invading space.. and get caught up while they have not had a rock in a few days... you'll see whats up.. then again these are the ones I've been in...

few notes.. China Town is golden...alley ways are the spots... i'll call up a homie and see if he can give me the streets they were on.. no promises though..

Once again you are just adding yourself to the list of
people who make this claim, but cannot substanciate it!
If you used to smoke out w/friends in them then you
would have to remember the exact access point(s)
that you used to gain entrance.Yet you make no
reference to any such points. If they are locked
now then there is no reason to keep them secret.
nobody in UE want's to hear some vague crap like
"oh yeah,me and my bro's used to smoke out down
there along time ago"!If you are bold enough to
make such claims on this site, then you better have
some exact details including entry points and
archetectural narratives/descriptions and exact dates.
anything less than that is unacceptable by UE term's!

few notes.. China Town is golden...alley ways are the spots... i'll call up a homie and see if he can give me the streets they were on.. no promises though..

This kind of implies that you are dealing with second
hand information at best!
nice try though,i guess?

Even in the Department there has been rumors of tunnels underneath Chinatown and the rest of SF. The area a few abandoned sections of the MUNI rail that are accessable. Of course Fort Mason has some tunnels and there might still be some ammunition tunnels left over from the Civil War and WW I and II. Who knows what really there is unless you have been there and those that have do not seem to be talking!
