Freaks...
entry by Jennibel

Due to bad weather (freezing fog, frigid temperatures, ice) & not having a 4WD rig anymore, I am basically stuck to the main streets--therefore not being able to go many places. Since I can't go anywhere exciting, I've done some reflecting on those friends that are around me everyday.

I've concluded that I'm surrounded by freaks. Most I would consider 'freaks' in the good way; a few, in the bad way. The reason I consider them freaks is due to many reasons...mostly how they act. When ever some of my friends become excited about something they act as if they are ADHD chipmunks sucking on helium...they start speaking fast in a squeeky voice with their hand a-flying around. I swear, if they had their hands tied-they wouldnt be able to talk. I accept the freaks around me as I'm sure they think I'm a freak also. If I wasnt around them or talk to them daily I wouldnt know how to function...most of them there isnt anything that I wouldnt do for them.

Just today, one of my friends came up to me & said 'I cant believe you got one...do you play with it...did it hurt...oh my god you probably had to learn to speak all over again...doesnt it get in the way...let me see it'. Only she ran all her words together. I had no idea what she was talking about & told her that. As if it was a big deal she whispered 'you know, your tongue piercing'. Ok, I've had it since last march...my best friend was with me when I got it done. To me, its no big deal...most people dont know I have it. I dont go around showing everyone---just like my tattoo. If I choose to show it, I will--otherwise no one knows. Yes, it hurt when I got it done--in fact I had to get it pierced twice, yes I play with it--its kind of hard not to--its in my tongue, no I didnt need to learn how to talk all over again, no it doesnt get in the way. After I patiently answered her questions, she loudly said that she'd never get it done because its wrong. Then my best friend had to go into vivid detail of what happened when I got it done...graphically describing the blood & how I had an audience watching while it was being done. She was having fun explaining how the blood was running down my tongue & chin then dripping onto my shirt. Luckily I wore an old t-shirt I didnt care about because I could never get all the blood out.

Then there's the subject of my shoes. I admit it...I have some very cute shoes. And I probably have paid more for them then most people would have. But it was my decision to buy them--if I didnt want to pay the price for them I wouldnt have bought them. My friends always ask if they can borrow them... Uh, no...I dont lend out my shoes. For one thing, most of them wear a larger shoe size then me & I dont want them stretched out. & for another thing, mainly the biggest thing...its just gross. Its not like they are an article of clothing that can be washed or anything like that. I dont wear anyone elses shoes & I dont anyone wearing mine. When they ask where they can get the same kind, they then complain about the cost...how they would never pay that much for a pair of shoes. Thats fine, you dont have to buy them but stop going on & on about what they cost. So now everytime I have a new pair of shoes I'm always asked how much I paid for them...it's just easier for me to say I dont remember. Or I just say where I bought them & let them go in search of them also. I've never seen anyone wearing the same shoes as I do--unless you count sketchers sport shoes. I just dont understand what the fascination everyone has with my shoes... freaks.

Who hasnt seen/felt/wore a chenille sweater? A mohair/angora sweater? Rabbit or mink fur coat? Everytime I wear my 'good' dress coat that is mohair/angora sweater knit with mink/rabbit fur trim, everyone has to come over & 'pet' it. Thats the word they us...'can I pet it?' 'Ooooh, you're wearing that coat again...can I pet it? I'm just going to stand here petting it...its so soft.' Ok, that sounds very odd to people that dont know what is really going on. Especially when they stand behind me at my desk & start rubbing their hands all over my coat (I dont hang it in the closet at work...things have a tendency of disappearing) Even when I wear my chenille sweaters people come over to 'feel' it...its just chenille--yes, its soft but theyre available everywhere & theyre not expensive. My best friend, in fact, makes a point of coming over when I wear it just in order to run her fingers over the mink & rabbit. She's a freak but who isnt? Then there are those that have commented on how wrong it is to wear fur...but have no comment when I ask them why they wear leather? I advise them that leather is dead animal hide. If its so wrong to wear fur then why are they wearing leather... Silence & they go away.

I'm surrounded by freaks...myself included.

lol I'm afraid I'd be one of the people wanting to pet your coat. I've realized I'm very texture oriented. I avoid some foods because I don't like the texture. I walk through stores touching different articles of clothing, or whatever, to feel the smoothness, or softness, or roughness of them.

So... Yeah, I'm a freak too. I don't think Lil-trouble would argue that, either...

We're all freaks, don't worry.

Maybe you should just smoke some weed and you're entire viewpoint will change.

On that topic, I dont actually smoke weed, it's just a suggestion.
