The gun toting land owner is definitely a risk with RE, and the further out in the country you get the bigger the risk that becomes (hence the giant NO TRESPASSING signs made out of pallets blocking half the driveway).

I suppose certain types of harmful insects are more common in the country than in the city. I know bees and spiders are everywhere, but they're more common in abandoned barns and farmhouses (or maybe just in larger numbers).

I live in a town that has a high level of meth use, but I feel like the chances of running into an active meth lab here are pretty equal to those in an urban setting. I haven't run into one yet in either setting though, so I'm not positive.

a lot of meth labs in rural Texas tend to be set up in:

- the old travel trailer out behind Uncle Bud's place

- the barn over at Uncle Bud's place

- Uncle Bud's kitchen, or his ex-wife's Pontiac Grand Am

we found what looked like some speed manufacturing lab apparatus in an abandoned oil field work shop
