oportunistic exploration

I hooked up with JGrant and Noah Vale tonight with the intention of hitting a building we knew to be accessible but JG noticed an open door of a 37 story building we've been coveting so we changed gears and hit it instead. When opportunity knocks, you gotta answer.

Great views from the rooftop.

I'm a blatant waste of time and resources.

Heh, I just got back from there. As of about midnight, our entry was no longer accessible.

Wow, awesome pics. And those cable wheels are fantastic.

...That purple up-shot almost looks like it could be a hull of some sort.

Nice. Very nice. Well, at least while I was in Memphis for Voodoo fest I got to check out a hospital. Unfortunately that was after driving from New Orleans the night before and only had a couple hours sleep in a car. We didn't spend too much time there but I'm glad we saw a little. Plus about 5 bums inhabited the place.

THat's the 135 foot tall decorative piece jutting up from the roof. It used to have a revolving beacon and neon but now it has has robotic lights shining up that change color. Up close, it DOES look like a boat hull.

Nice pics Barry. I know exactly which building you're talking about and I been itching to check it out myself.

I must say, the view is pretty nice from there.

That building was a competitor against the Mercantile Complex. They kept building higher and higher to "outdo" (for lack of better words) each other. The merc has a neon tower on top of it that is VERY dissimilar to this building.

So Noah,
WE need to see the view from the rooftop of Republic Tower II.

I'm a blatant waste of time and resources.
