| Friday, I planned on joining GreyKat and Jadenala for a return trip to "the privy", as GK has extensive knowledge and training in the field of archaeology. Just as I was meeting up with them, I got a call from Katwoman. She said that her and Mr. X were about to enter a "new" tunnel and were looking for some company. So the 3 of us joined up with the 2 of them and began the evening's adventure.
We located the entrance and dove inside without anyone seeing us. A long, dark tunnel lay before us with thick power lines running along both sides. Mr. X had been here once before, but hadn't explored the whole thing yet. He informed us that at one point, we'd have to get a little wet. Not a problem. As it turned out, it was about 6 inches deep and quite muddy. My shoes were on their last mile as it was, but after this they went straight to the garbage.
Much of the tunnel was very short, and GreyKat, being tall, had a tough time crouch-walking. He ended up crawling for some of the way.
There was a side passage at what later was determined to be the approximate halfway point. It went back about 300 feet and stopped short for a sloppy cement wall.
The main tunnel ended after what seemed to be about a mile of straight tunnel. We believe the power lines were and are active, and run up to a substation which was estimated to be above us at that time.
Exiting, we noticed tons of what looked like mini Black Widow spiders everywhere. This completed the mission perfectly - a little kick at the end!
Katwoman and Mr. X parted from us as we headed to our original destination. Upon entering, we were spotted by a passer-by! I panicked and failed to be quick and deft in escaping from the terrible feeling of being suspicious. We continued on our way inside after GreyKat convinced me that I was over-reacting. I'll admit that I was kinda paranoid for the rest of the evening.
Arriving at "the privy", GK began applying his knowledge to the situation.
On my previous journal posting, D_Wrex and I had discovered this site and had unearthed many relics (bottles and whatnot), and I was excited to see what GK could find out about them. We dug a little more after collecting all of the most interesting items from the surface.
The best part of this story is the information that he found about the stuff we brought out. Much of the bottles had medicines, cure-alls, and other ailment suppressors. One bottle was dated at 1840! It most likely was perfume. We also found a human tooth. It's rotted and totally gross, and it's sitting on a ledge in my bedroom right now. Jeez! I think GK will have tons of interesting information for you on his upcoming website "Hollow Hills". Check it out!
