A mostly pointless day
entry by Kakesu

I didn't achieve much today, in an exploring sense, and just generally too. I did go out for a few hours looking for possible tunnel sites in town. Mostly fruitless as my homemade manhole popper turned out to be useless on heavier lids. I did find a series of about ten very promising manholes in a line about twenty meter apart, each cover raised three feet out of the ground. If Chelmsford has an underground, here's the entrance.

In other news, the word is Baddow has a rather large tunnel network. From what I heard today, it sounds like a medieval culvert thing, similar to the tracts under Leez Priory. I think I've found a possible entrance, though it involves an irritating trudge down a stream under a road. Lacking waders, I'll invest in some bin bags and tape tomorrow.

All I seem to be talking about is tunnels. I'll cycle down to the gravel works soon, try to photo some of the hulking near-dead machinery there. It'll make a nice after this research-heavy week.
