 | Chronology of Events on a Saturday Evening

| 2pm: I attend my Mom's birthday party in Wyoming, MN (30 miles north of Mpls)
4pm: Party in full-swing. All is well.
7pm: I begin to think about what I want to explore later on.
8pm: Party dragging. I want to go exploring.
9pm: Guilt trip from my mom. I feel bad leaving, so I stay for 2 more hours.
11pm: I swing by my brothers apartment to pick up a scanner which I intend to pay him for, eventually.
11:15: My phone rings. It's GreyKat. He says, "We need you, bud. We're in **** **** ****, and there's a cop outside." They were seen while infiltrating. He (GreyKat) apparently wants me to be the outside man. I give him an alternative exit, but he, being a hardcore explorer, says that he wants to explore first. He wants me to keep an eye on the outside while they (Ofberenonehand, Jadenala, Grit, and two others) explore. This is to be my Saturday night.
12am: I arrive in Mpls and head straight for the location. I find a cop parked in a spot and angle that tells me he is waiting for them, and he doesn't want them to see him. I drive to the other side and see nothing else in the form of security measure. I contact Ofberenonehand and relay the information. He says that they are planning on taking more photographs as long as there isn't anyone actually coming in for them. I drive back to the other side to see if the cop is still there. Yep. As I drive by, he looks at me through eyes of suspicion. I decide to park my car a couple of blocks away and continue on foot.
12:30: I walk around the place to get a good, thorough look at the situation. As I come close to the entry point, which is off-limits, I'm surprised by a car that cruises past me really fast, nearly hitting me. Of course, my first thought is that it's security - that being a natural thought for a person in my present state of mind. I don't want to create more suspicion, so I don't actually watch him. I start walking the other way. After 50 feet or so, I turn around and start heading back. About thirty seconds later, a door opens in front of me and I am startled. I turn back around and walk away again. This, of course, is probably the worst thing to do, because I know he saw me. I call GreyKat and let him know about the security guy.
1am: I run to my Loring Park apartment and change clothes so I can repeat the rounds without anyone recognizing me. When I return, I find a good vantage point in a dark area in view of their proposed exit site. I sit tight with a video camera in anticipation of their potential arrest (might as well get in on video!).
1:45: My phone rings. GreyKat tells me that they're ready to come out. I say, "Did you check the other exit I told you about?" He says, "Yeah, it's flooded pretty bad." If worse comes to worse, it's better to get soaked than arrested! That would be Plan B. We know that the bars close at 2am, so we're thinking the cop might get busy with that. Perfect time for an exit! GreyKat says, "We're coming down. If you see a cop or security, call my phone and let it ring once." OK.
1:50: A cop car pulls into the restricted area where they're about to exit through and turns on his spotlight. I call GreyKat's phone and let it ring once. He calls me back and tells me that they're on ground level and they're ready to come out. I tell him about the cop and, furthermore, suggest taking a swim. I look to check on the cop and find that he is gone. I relay this information to GreyKat and tell him to jump the fence and run like hell.
1:55: Immediately after I hang up, the cop pulls back into the area and turns on his spotlight!! Also, a security vehicle speeds up the hill in the back!! I almost die of a heart attack as I fumble to call GreyKat. He isn't answering!!! C'mon!!!!
1:56: MIRACULOUSLY, the cop exits for some unexplainable reason while the security vehicle disappears. I see them jumping the fence now. GO, GO, GO!!!!!
They run down the embankment, diving and rolling as needed. They meet up with me in the shadows and wait for a moment. We begin to inch our way back to our cars while still holding our breath.
2am: Blocks away from danger, we recap the evenings events with adrenaline- fueled spirit. Whew!
3am: I watch "Labyrinth".
