| a different day entry by Gatsby 2/11/2005 1:17 AM
| Yesterday was a busy day for me. First, I drove to 5 or 6 previously-explored locations to take exterior photographs (I always forget to do that). The old book factory, which is the main content of my first journal posting, was already under heavy renovation. It pissed me off because D_Wrex and I were planning on returning to take more photos. Too late! Next, I scouted out a certain building in downtown Mpls that I'm ashamed to say I've never explored - if I named the structure, someone on here would punch me. My friend Evan came with me for this. We found two ways, but one has a high risk of being seen even in the middle of the night. It's a ladder on the prominent-most side of the main building, so anyone who happened to look at this building would surely see me - probably not a good idea. The other way is actually doable, but still needs to be done late at night. It includes waiting until a certain establishment closes, then either slipping under or climbing over a rather large fence, THEN scale a small structure within the walls of the former to get to a ladder which may lead to a window that could lead into the building. Far fetched, but worth a try. Later, I got onto the roof of an apartment building near my house in Loring Park! That was unexpected, 'cause I was just delivering the Star Tribune (yeah, Amber, that's my crappy second job) and got the urge to try the roof access. I can't believe it - it was just a cheap, flimsy hatch with absolutely no effort in security! The view is really good, and since I have a key to this building (thanks to the Star Tribune), I'll be lugging my gear up there soon for some (more) pictures of downtown. The edits were for finishing this post - I kept getting interrupted!
