| About the Skrolls
Back when I started Kastle Archives website - I set aside a page and called it 'Skrolls'. Basically it was a journal idea - a place where I'd just jot down a few spare thoughts and anecdotes as they occurred...a way of injecting a bit of personality into the website.
I kept adding new additions to the 'Skrolls' for a few years - rather sporatically though. The Skroll page wasn't interactive...and since I never received any sort of email feedback from it - even to this day I have no clue whether people even bothered to read it. I always tried my best to make the entries interesting an worthy of reading, but most people have the attention span of gnats these days (myself included) - so I never bemoaned the lack of feedback.
Aside from that - I've been an avid writer for a lot of years. I minored in college English, and English was always one of my best subjects throughout highschool as well. Back in the early 80s I began writing personal journals for myself - at first longhand with pen and notebook, and then later I transcribed them all to the computer and continued on making the journal entries on the `puter.
Along the way, I somehow wrote over 2 million words in the journal files since the early 80s (I kept a tally using WordPerfect's word counter function). I'd write about the goings-on at work, weekend parties, places I visited....anything and everything. I also found journal writing to be very cathartic...a vent for my manic depression I often suffer bouts with.
I still have all those old journal files tucked away on disk these days - and although I'd taken a lengthy break of several years from writing in the journals, recently I've reinstalled them back on to the system and have renewed a bit of daily writing in them.
My writings here on UER are just a casual extension of a few misc. ramblings mostly.
