Wow. I jsut turned on the telly to a Chevy Cavaleir commercial playing Steppenwolfs Magic Carpet Ride in the background, only earlier I had watched a commercial with Dream On by Areosmith and the Cadillac commercial playing Led Zeppelin's Rock 'n Roll. Why are all my favorites being used to push cars? AH well. Merrry X-Mas all.

	Advertisers and marketers know the demographic stats and age ranges of most people with disposable income - so they specifically target some ad campaigns towards those demographics. Which includes using 'feel good' music people in that age range remember and enjoyed. The very fact that you noticed the music and identified it with the specific manufacturer illustrates that the concept works well ;) S.K.
	You can always tell when you're watching Canadian television - the actors in the show are the same ones doing the commercials.

Who would've thought back in the late 70s that someday we'd see car commercials featuring classic Zeppelin or Steppenwolf tracks as a sales pitch. Go figure.

Times change - so does the demographics of those with money to blow on shiny new products.
