 | Strange radomes

| Wow, hard to believe I last posted in here in late July, feels like last week. Well, except for the whole fall thing, but that's beside the point.
Anyway, as I've been doing quite a bit of driving recently, a friend and I came upon something rather odd in Innisfil (south of Barrie). When one takes Huronia road in Barrie down towards Bradford, in between the 3rd and 4th lines if memory serves me correctly, is a runway. Although it is a grass runway and probably for personal use only, it struck me as an odd location for such a thing. Here's the strange part. When you are heading the other way, towards Barrie, when you look up the hill to the left of the runway, you'll see a white building, with what appears to be a radome. Additionally, there's been a fair amount of excavation going on beside the runway set into the side of the hill, and so I'm starting to get very curious about what is going on there. I have to do some major scouting in the area before any plans are made, but because of the very open nature of the area, hiding a vehicle would be nigh on impossible. Time will tell I suppose.
In other news, I saw an ad on tv with George W Bush talking about the standard election bullshit. He then said that "I won't mix up religion with politics", and not even 5 seconds later, the words "I believe man was created in god's image", etc. came out. I counted the amount of times the word god was used after his declaration of not mixing religious stuff into politics and I counted 4 times. This wasn't even a religious network, it was on fox29 (a Buffalo station). I suppose it just goes to show you that you can be a complete and obvious hypocrite in North America and still get away with it, although politics has always been that way.
On a side note, if anyone has even the slightest idea of what that danged radome is for, would you please let me know, it's starting to drive me nuts.
