OK so five countries is technically true although embellished a bit as I'm counting England, Wales and Northern Ireland as rightly separate countries that make up the UK. Add America and Belgium on to the list and you end up at five. I won't be getting out again until January now (unless something surprising happens) so there is no better time to get this out the way than now.

It's been an average year numbers-wise, somehow I scraped together 63 explores of varying kinds. As I'm a fan of numbers, the 63 can be broken down as follows:

62 different locations
54 places I'd not been to before
9 revisits
3 permission visits
53 in the UK
38 in England
10 in Wales
9 in the USA
5 in Northern Ireland
1 in Belgium

I could carry on splitting it down but I think that'll do.

It's been a fun year. I saw some stuff I never expected to see, some stuff I had wanted to see for ages, made a surprise return to mainland Europe, and I even managed to fit in a bunch of explores in the States on a 'non-exploring' trip. Of course there were some frustrating days where nothing went right but the number of good days definitely countered the bad. I already have plans to start 2024 with a bunch of stuff so here's to a good year for all.

2024 marks not only my 15th exploring anniversary, but also my 10 year UER birthday in June and I believe July respectively, I'm already wondering what to do to mark the occasions.

Cheers all, it was a fun year of various ventures. Nothing I would class as 'epic' but that's not what it's all about for me now anyway. I just like getting out and wandering around some old buildings.

Oh, the intrigue! Your photos make me want to be there so that I can turn my head and see even more.
