Never been much of a building person, but do love a good drain, hardrock mine or other space beneath the surface of our Earth. Been doing this for a while now according to that counter thing on the left there, so uh, here are some photos or whatever. There were periods I either didn't take any, my results were shit, or I was broke and my camera was busted.
Hard to believe this forum still exists, the thing is a relic of the oulde interwebz it is. Met some cool people through this place over the years, even a couple of lifelong friends. Cheers to that and the real spirit of the niche.

Guess I don't have a whole lot of choice selections from the last six or so years huh? Still getting out there, just don't focus on photography like I once did. Mostly just enjoying the experience these days. Bet I'll get back into it eventually.

Awesome shots. I lived in Colorado for about 4 years and I regret taking a hiatus from exploring during that time. Love the look of those big brick drains

Awesome pictures man. I love the mine shots they always interest me. Also don't stress when you don't take pictures. I frequently fail to take any pictures. That doesn't make the trip any less memorable or important to you and anyone you went with.

Unbelievable pictures! I can't wait to get back out to Colorado to see more of the mines, there's something special about those 19th century mines in the Rockies that we just don't get back here in the Midwest.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Fucking ay. What a trip seeing all your journeys over the years. Thanks so much for sharing. I especially liked the few with the ice crystals, but also the one of the rails bending over the edge of the cliff. Very cool, and inspiring. Reminds me I need to commit more time to the western states.

Thanks man. I was rather astonished nobody had named or visited the Denver drains in any public or "official" sense, for my lack of a better definition. I remember really treading lightly as I was certain any number of veterans would soon crawl out of the woodwork to set me straight. Never happened, and all the names stuck... some of which you can definitely identify as coming from the brain of an 18 year old kid, lol.

Appreciate it! The 19th century mines are something to behold. Living museums, many of them.

Thanks! It's one of the most incredible places I've ever been to this very day. Was up there earlier this year in fact. Have been visiting that district for almost 20 years now.

Thanks dude! I always seem to be torn between "I should be taking photos of this" and "Why the fuck am I wasting this experience taking photos?", haha. I've become much better at just enjoying the present moment however, which is actually super challenging for whatever reason.

Thanks! There are a handful of good drains here. There has been a lot of rehab, alteration and new additions during the last decade which have leveled-up our underground in my opinion. The largest brick drain still exists but has been partitioned, which is too bad, but what they've added makes up for the damage. Stop by for a visit sometime!

Damn, I missed your comment somehow, my bad. Thanks dude, and you bet. It has been a while but sure doesn't feel like 20 years. That portal way up on the continental divide looked like something out of a movie, totally ridiculous. The Timeless Winter is a dimension unto itself, nothing else like it anywhere, which is all I'll say about that place. The western US has a lot to see, but you must have patience, and ideally a 4x4 with a big fuel tank.
