I've read a lot about Deuel while researching Los Angeles true crime history, and it was a very tough place known for the inmates' ingenuity in crafting deadly weapons out of scrap materials and the brutal gladiator-style fights that the guards organized.

If you're sensitive to past suffering, I imagine it is a heavy place.

Wow that’s disheartening to hear, I did read about past prison riots. Thank god the place is closed now
