Built in 20██, this was one of [REDACTED]'s two abandoned scenic lifts. It was constructed as a private venture by a small group of investors who intended to build a restaurant and mining museum at the top of the tram and turn it into a tourism sightseeing destination. A controversial plan from the start, it never opened for a few reasons.

The first was a dispute over zoning laws. The investors, in an fit of exceptionally poor planning, finished construction on the tram before trying to secure the permits for the museum and restaurant. When the [REDACTED] city government denied them they were left with a "tram to nowhere," in the words of those who criticized the idea from the very beginning. The second reason was a legal dispute over a bond the city wanted to collect from the investors that would pay for demolition if the project didn't pan out. A similar bond was used to dismantled the other abandoned chairlift across town, the now-removed [CENSORED].

These legal conflicts bogged down the project and eventually the investors gave up- leaving the tram completed but abandoned. It never once carried a single paying customer.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

Nice shots. I've had this on my list for next time I'm up in that area.

That's a super cool find, looks like a really beautiful area for a scenic restaurant. Too bad it never opened but leaves us with a cool place to explore.
