I had decided to visit a paper mill in southwest Michigan, as the building had been set for demolition recently. Homeless residents informed me that the building hadn't been torn down as a bald eagle was nesting within

This part will show some of the south end of the paper mill, made of loading bays and printing shops.



When I approached, a homeless man walked out of the building and talked to us


He was staying just inside with his girlfriend, who we'd also talk to


This was the main packaging room. You can see the old discs from paper spools they used to make. This was one of my favorite spots


Around here I met several people hanging out in a circle


This odd room was the first floor area and offices, of the waxed print shop. You can see an old-styled wooden lift that was in use here


I loved this staircase, sash windows on each side


Most of the complex was filled with these massive skylights


Next I went to the Print-O-Department and Ink Lab


The chemicals used in this process were noted on the door, as the asbestos hazards had been.


The rooms in this building were short and filled with many wood boxes. This space was maze-like if you had the chance to walk around it
