Security only on weekends?

New here. What are the chances that a popular (abandoned) place for urbex would have security only on weekends (when people are more likely to go there)?

A few weeks ago I went to an abandoned theme park in Taiwan, on a Friday, and there was no security. It was also a holiday. Went back on this past Saturday and got busted going in.

I'm not sure if security was off due to holiday, due to weekday, or we just got lucky the first time.

It wouldn't be easy to tell without several days of surveillance, plus local knowledge. Was it definitely a security guard who was on duty and not some other worker or even property owner stopping by?

What holiday, Dragon Boat Festival on June 3? I can't imagine that one being big enough for all workers to have the day off. I would only assume that would happen on Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival.

Another question might be how long their shifts are, and whether they go home at night and arrive in the morning. If you can check after dark, you'll be able to see if anyone's posted there. I'd also recommend predawning the location to see if you can get it before the guard shows up/wakes up.

These are all guesses because I know very little about Taiwan, or where it's similar or different to what I'm used to.

Hard to say for sure that he is strictly security, but if he is some other type of maintenance worker it comes with the same effect really -- he got on the phone to someone as he was telling us to leave. He then got on a scooter and rode outside to check if we were actually leaving. Comments on FB have also mentioned being chased away by security on a scooter.

It was June 3rd, yep. My teacher friend was off work due to the holiday, so security maybe too.

We scoped it out both times with a drone before entering. The second time, I'm pretty sure it was the sound of the drone that brought his attention. So one good tactic is probably just to do the same next time - if my drone doesn't see him and it doesn't bring attention, then it's probably safe to go in.

I have to rent a car and drive almost an hour to get there, so I hate to scope it out multiple days ha

Pretty standard. 400ft max altitude, registration over 250 grams, and big no-fly-zone / altitude-limited areas due to the airport.
