Research Pays Off - Sometimes

With the knowledge that my group of friends would be getting together, I decided to do some digging for places to explore nearby. I searched online for potential UE opportunities, including the public map here on uer.ca with little success. I'm fairly new to this hobby, so I don't know of many locations personally. A buddy of mine [Teknicallity] and I narrowed our day-trip down to two potential locations after hours of digging, verifying, and (respectfully) stalking other explorers. Turns out, we're pretty damn good at putting together the pieces.

We decided definitively on one location, despite knowing security and surveillance could possibly be present. This location is the lesser-known detention center out of three in the area. It is also the only one that hasn't been renovated or destroyed. Because of this, there are only a handful of posts about it online. The majority of posts are referring to the now-defunct sister complexes.

While the contents of this location were heavily embellished in those few posts we found, we had fun nevertheless. Almost got caught, nagged my shirt on a fence, got some good pictures, and had some good laughs. Overall a great time.

This location is actually a whole complex of buildings together, some we didn't deem safe to enter. It was used as a place of incarceration many years ago, and has since been left to disrepair. However...it's now actively being used by local emergency services as a training grounds. We found simunition rounds, training documents, tracks from what I assume are bomb squad drones, USAR markings, and a "crashed" helicopter through a roof.

If you have any additional information about this spot, please feel free to message me. There will be another post on this forum by Teknicallity with different pictures and perspectives. If I need to make edits or changes to this post, I will do so. I'm still pretty new.

Fun exploring with ya, if just a little disappointing.
