10 Years ago I came along with my crooked photos and all my bullshit and joined this community.

In that time I've learned a few things, like to NOT tilt my camera before I hit the shutter button. I believe some call this the Dutch Angle.

Many of the places I explored that first year are gone but there are some still standing.

This year I have made a point to start revisiting these spots to see what 10 years has done to the ones that are still standing.

You can see the first one I did here in the dusty old Ontario forum:

Last week I returned to another one to set up some now and then photos. I've tried to line them up as best as I can. Many of the differences are subtle, but pay attention to the walls, floors and ceiling.

I think the thing that aged the worst however, was the photographer!

Top or Left photos are from 2012, bottom or right photos from 2022

Sorry - some of these pics are huge

Thanks for looking or lurking!

Oh these "That was then, this is now" stuff is fantastic !

Amazing how some things have deteriorated so much and others you can barely see a difference.

Thanks for sharing...really enjoyed this set

I'd really like to see this become a trend amongst explorers, it's fascinating. Crazy how some places are almost unrecognizable, while others have hardly changed at all. And the self-portraits show how much you've changed as well in the intervening years, almost tying yourself to the location in that way!
