Glad to be looking back at what easily became my most memorable year of exploration to date.
Exploring Ontario for the first time was without a doubt the highlight and funny as it might sound, Toronto and the surrounding areas were a massive breath of fresh air for me. I'm so used to driving or riding hundreds of kilometers between locations that Toronto felt like rapid fire pacing, sometimes shooting half a dozen locations a day. And even after 4 weeks of non-stop exploration in Ontario I'm nowhere near the bottom of my list, very eager to return in 2022.
Got to spend some more time hopping between hamlets and ghost towns in the prairies, Manitoba for the first time, so relaxing. Return trip to the Yukon was awesome, short and sweet but I did manage to cross off some mining ruins that I had been looking forward to for a long time.
Most of my days at home in BC were spent riding or racing this year but I did revisit some old favorites. Helped a friend of mine pull off some very unique long exposure photos at Carolin Mine, boarded our local shipwreck for the first time and completed a photo set that I've been desperate to pull off for over 5 years, and crossed off a few mines and train tunnels here and there.
Yet another year spent stubbornly shooting with a cell phone, maybe 2022 will be the year that I try out a real camera... probably not.
Solid year start to finish. Excited to hit the ground running in 2022 with new locations planned across 6 provinces.
