Huge abandoned silo storage complex

A location with no vandalism or stolen things? They are rare, and so is this huge silo complex that we recently explored! As this location is not well known, it was left untouched for more than 12 years. It was mainly used for storing and processing livestock food for the nearby turkey farms. At one moment, it was the largest turkey production factory in Croatia, with over 700 workers and a holding capacity of 60 000 t. Financial mismanagement and increased competition ultimately let to bankruptcy and closure in 2012.

The main attraction are the 7 huge silos that dominate the landscape.

After the bankruptcy, part of the property was leased out to other companies, so one hangar is still being used for storage and the parking lot by a local car reseller, but we didn't encounter anyone while there.

These circles were most likely the foundations for a new row of silos, like the ones we stand on. The inside was an amazing find. Full of old („Made in Yugoslavia“) machinery that were used to vent and fill the silos. There was a lift for going to the top floor, but we didn't test it as the power was off through the whole building. The bottom floors housed a couple of small offices together with a workshop. All silos were connected together by a long conveyor belt that went underneath each of them.

The building nearby housed some smaller silos that were located indoors. It was packet with multiple kW (kilowatt) motors, machines and distribution panels that looked like new! Wheat was brought here by train from the nearby station and unloaded firstly to this smaller building and then as needed through a long overhead conveyor belt that went to the main silo storage.

There are a lot of thing we didn't get a chance to photograph, as our main objective was to film the exploration. If you are interested in the full catalog of motors and machines used to run this place, you can check out the full exploration:

Very cool spot, the exterior is in remarkably good condition for over a decade of abandonment

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.
