Like I said when I joined UER, I've photographed for years, but have only now started going through my archives and publishing old photos. Well it sure is slow work.

The following shots have been taken on my old Canon EOS 1000D waaaaaay back in 2011 in an abandoned wood grounding mill, power plant and a gardener's cottage of a sawmill. The site closed down in the 1980's and has been demolished since my visit.

We'll start with the wood grounding mill:

There had been a fire upstairs:

Going for the power station then:

And finally the cottage. Why would sawmills even employ gardeners back in the early 20th century?

More pictures and some more info about the history of the site here: https://desertedfi...-power-plant-2011/

Interesting photos, I like the picture with the graffiti and the dark lighting. Cool contrast of colors. I like the tracks you can see in some of the photos, not sure why but I've always enjoyed finding abandoned tracks, machinery or railroad.

Thank you!

I think I have something coming up for you! Last summer I found one of the oldest railroad tunnels in Finland, which is abandoned. The summer before I gained access to the scrapyard of a locomotive museum, where pretty unique things were sitting.

Unfortunately I don't edit and publish nearly as quickly as I photograph. I also keep a two year embargo on publishing anything because of the legislation in Finland. But I promise to post them here as soon as I get there!
