Okay, so hear me out:

I watch this youtube series that basically goes over extremely obscure conspiracy theories and such. I generally don't put much stock into any of them, but it's nice to have on in the background and to see what wacky stuff theorists get up to.
In the latest episode, one of the subjects discussed was that of "Endless Elevators". Apparently, these are elevator shafts that appear to stretch longer than the geometry of the building that contains them allows; and that they are found in abandoned buildings by urban explorers.
(Video in question and timestamps are below.)

So, taking this almost certainly more serious than it should be, has anyone experienced something like this? Or heard of someone who has?

I generally don't take things like this all that seriously, but I am curious to see other's thoughts on the matter, whether it's just a spooky story someone came up with or a genuine experience.

For real? Why put any stock in this at all? It's like saying you could perhaps fit 500 ml of beer in a 330-ml can... or whatever.

An elevator shaft can be - and often is - deeper than the above-ground height of the building that houses it. Some places can have (multiple) underground levels, which may or may not have been public knowledge when the site was still in use.

"Endless elevators", though? Put down whatever you're smoking and just go explore!

I'm sober, just having some fun lol. Just thought it would be fun to talk about. Hear people out if they think it's legit. Nothing really more to it than that.

C-A-T CAT was originally spelled D-O-G, but those fat cats in Washington don't want us to know the truth. Fact. Do your research.

Truth. Which makes my mockery all the more amusing to me. People assume what they hear is fact, regardless of the source. They believe what they want to believe. People are dumb.

Not to detract from the OP. I get you're not trying to spread a conspiracy here. It was just hard for me not to mock the lost, uneducated masses, grasping at anything other than truth. Was nothing more than an easy joke, and not directed at you.

The Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang has a secret fifth floor that the elevators skip. A few people have made it in there by taking the stairs.
