Cookstown's Dinwoody-Duff Pioneer Farm as of 2021

Ground State has a beauty of a write up in his original thread so I'm off the hook.

When I approached the property I noticed the "No Trespassing" signs looked newish and the laneway was freshly plowed. So I decided to follow a snowmobile track in the neighboring field to the back of the property.

I got a weird vibe when I noticed fresh straw in the first building I entered. I decided that it was best to stay inside each building and not walk outside if at all possible. This hindered my ability to get nice exterior shots but I didn't want to get booked:

I know some folks requested some exteriors with the snow so I will post them. However, I was in full fraidy cat mode so they were quick and dirty:

I know how nice this property looks from the front but I didn't want to take that risk.

Thanks for looking!

#4 is super cool, and that raccoon death is something else. If it wasn't for the thick summer foliage for cover, I don't know how I could have comfortably explored this farm. My hat goes off to you for the winter effort!

If you go back to Ground State's coverage of this place, he took the same shot and it's super tight.

Thanks for the comment!

Nice shots and interesting place! Is the place actively patrolled, or is there a lot of activity or nosey neighbours nearby? Place looks fairly secluded, so I am a little surprised at how risky it's made out to be.

That raccoon shot is gnarly for sure, but I'd be really surprised if the poor critter got hopelessly stuck in that position. Raccoons are decent acrobats and like to mess around and chill in tree branches (my pic). My money says it was probably shot by a redneck, poisoned, or its time had simply come.

The neighbors are close enough to smell what shampoo I use and the property is in a high traffic area. I think the tree coverage in the summer would greatly reduce the fear factor.

Awesome shots all around, especially the wide angle interior ones. What lens/camera do you use for those?

Why thank you. It's actually my Galaxy S10 cell phone camera. The phone is nothing fancy at all but the camera is super crisp. Through trial and error, I learned how to use it to a level that I'm happy with. I rarely have to edit any of my photos, except for the super bright sunny days. Once I learn more about photography, I will likely do more editing and eventually move to an actual DSLR. But right now, it's all about the find for me. I'd rather spend the money on gas to get to distant locations.
