Small Canal Outfall
entry by Floodway

A little bit ago, I went biking along a canal near the place I'm staying. No outfalls larger than three feet in diameter, but I took note of three different possible POE's. I've never explored drains this small before, so I did a "test run" and ventured a few feet into one of them to see how comfortable it was. Was pleasantly surprised that my bike was able to fit inside with me, since I wasn't carrying a lock that day. Eager to return and venture deeper inside, when the forecast is clear and I'm carrying proper gear. The outfall I entered looked like it might taper down, so it may be a very short journey, but it also could have been an optical illusion. See second photo for what I mean, and please feel free to comment on what you think. I was worried about dropping my phone in the water, so I didn't venture far enough inside to see for sure, all I've got is the photo.
I haven't been in a drain in a long time, and back then it was the vile CSO's underneath Atlanta. Looking forward to some relatively clean drains, for a change! I know there are some good drains in my city and I'm quite excited to seek them out.

The signs near the canal also inspired my new icon and username!
