Urbex buddies Houston Tx

Im currently in Houston for 3 more weeks and want to go exploring. I have a few locations in mind, but think someone with some local knowledge would be awsome, plus going alone seems kinda dangerous especially in a new city to me. If you do want to go with Me I think we should meet in public first just to gain each others trust. Im from Colorado initially and have exploded lots of mines and a few ghost towns.

Exploding mines is one of my favorite pastimes.
Hahaha, just kidding, I know what you meant.

Houston is not that far from here (Dallas), but far enough to be a little too far. Hopefully, you’ll find someone willing to meet you. I know two or three Houston explorers from UER, but I don’t know how active they’ve been these last couple months or so.

If you explore anything down there, be sure to post some pics!

I currently live in Cypress up off 290 but I'm all over Houston/Katy daily/nightly and on occasion the state.

I've been checking out old farms out between Katy and Waller. Some cool stuff out there if you look. Just watch the damn bees/wasps/hornet/flying stingy things (whatever lol).

Been in a few drains lately near the Bridgeland area (Fry/290 ish). Really curious about a drain off the West Grand Parkway West (SH99) northbound at the onramp for North Bridgeland Creek Parkway. I may check it out tonight if I feel like wandering out there.

I have a bunch of pictures but they all on my phone and I can't figure out how to upload them here without a computer. lol.

Pm me and hopefully I get it.

My very first drain explore was in Houston. I was lucky enough to meet up with a couple UER members when I was still very new around here - one in particular was very experienced, especially with drains, so that was definitely a plus. Any Houstonian (or Texan in general) knows that exploring anything at the height of Houston's hot season is oppressive at best, so any reprieve from the oppressive heat (ie, anything subterranean) is a welcomed bonus!

Check out this thread from the Rookie Forum:
https://uer.ca/for...d=1&threadid=60002

When I'm on my phone and need to get my photo(s) under 100kb to upload directly I can't use a host site for whatever reason, I usually go to this site (it's free) to reduce the size of my images (there are lots of similar sites out there):
http://www.webresizer.com

It's a tedious, outdated process, but let's face it, this is kind of an outdated UI/website. There is probably a better way, but I'm not super tech savvy and this is what I found that works for me.

I don't use a phone so this may not help you with that but the quick gallery creator works great, must enable Adobe Flash and select a file to upload direct to UER no other hosting required sample below see the image tags inp

No offense to the people of this forum but I wouldn't trust anyone here. You're going into an abandoned building with a complete stranger. Thats foolish- take a friend you know or go solo; as unsafe as that sounds its still your best bet. Not to mention there's a pandemic going on.

I'm still around. I stay near 290 and the belt currently. Not doing too much UE as I've been without a vehicle for several months. Sometime in the summer I hit up an abandoned farm out off 99 but haven't been mobile since.

I hadn’t heard of that one we have been doing a lot of driving around and looking scouting but really haven’t found any places of much note aside from the bunkers in Galveston

Greetings fellow explorers. I'm still here, after all of these years. What's going on? Anyone found a cool local place recently?
