Let's Go To The Mall

In the wake of 'rona, I've been taking the time to finally go through my backlog of photos and finally post some of them. This was back in the beginning of last year before this spot blew up. Made sure to post photos without any identifying signage, of which there were many. This mall really wanted you to know exactly where you were.

Long story short, this mall opened up in 1986, anchored with Gottschalks, Mervyn's, Harris, and a movie theater. It shut down in 2017 and was sold to developers that had planned on a mixed-use facility. Sadly, they defaulted on their loan payments and it fell into disrepair.

Like a lot of locations nowadays, a pair of YouTube explorers exposed this location and the place was locked down within the week their video came out, two days before I visited with my friend.

That day I learned how to climb.

This is awesome! I wish I had a chance to explore our mall up here in NorCal before it was demoed, I can only imagine we'll have some more abandoned malls in the next few months tho. I love the symmetry in your last shot!

Great shots! Love the decay in these shots. I haven't wanted to do any abandoned malls because it seems like a bland explore with not much to see, but you proved me wrong. This mall looked like it was awesome to check out.

Youtubers didn't expose it, its been full of bums for years and a place many run in and out of exploring, several fires etc... The security fluctuates from tight and locked up to basically no existent. Place is a few miles from my house actually lol. Good job getting in and documenting though. Surprised seats are still there, I know several locals who had eyes on them lol.
