Hello everyone:
These pictures are from another explore I did with AndrewG when I was living in Newfoundland back in 2011. This was one of my favorite explores because the tunnel network turned out to be more intricate than I thought. Also, I found it mesmerizing how straight and endless the first section of tunnel was. My imagination was running wild at this point wondering where the hell we would end up. The best way I can describe this network is that it runs parallel to the Prince Phillip Parkway (PPP) and branches off to different places.
One place the tunnel lead us to was the university machinery/boiler room (or one of them at least). In my gallery below, these are the pictures of the room with the tanks and electrical panels.
After exploring further, we encountered another tunnel. However, we had to crawl underneath a lot of pipes to access it. This branch tunnel lead us to what I am guessing was the powerhouse/heating plant across PPP. All I know is that when we lifted the hatch at the end of this tunnel, there was a huge room with lots of noisy machinery.
When we returned to the main tunnel and went further, we encountered another branch tunnel. We found out that this tunnel leads to a government building north-east of the hospital and the powerhouse. The section of tunnel that goes to the government building was gated off though (as you will see in the pictures). We could have climbed around it but, I was worried about motion sensors, etc. I wasn't interested in finding out if there were any.
If there is anyone else out there who has explored this more recently, I would love to hear your story. It would be interesting to hear about any changes made to the tunnel system.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this!
