Take this job and shove it!

Damn I'm sick of this job...my hours are so ricockulous I can't plan anything around it. I sleep all day, and then I'm up all night. I need to get approved for a student line of credit, then i can quit this god damn job, and just worry about school for now. I can worry about getting a new job later. Ultimately i'd like to be able to keep working full time while I go to school, but my current employer won't accomidate me. So if I get the line of credit, I'll be takin my time to find a new job as I've been workin tooooo much.

According to my school schedule I'm gonna have free time after 11am every tuesday, wednesday and thursday. Plus I'll have access to a darkroom any time I want, and plenty of film and paper to work with. What that means for me is a great excuse to get out and UE more. I haven't been out in ages, and it blows. I should be goin to the psych this week, which'll be nice since I haven't been there in a while, and I'll be able to scout locations. I have a few projects I want to work on in there.

First thing I wanna do is a photographic comic book. Real people, real places, real lighting, real moody. I want to use a lot of natural light, and depth of field techniques to make it visually rich, which is also why it's going to take place mostly in ruins. The whole shebang's going to be black and white, maybe with some dream sequences in colour. Gonna have the standard comic style speech bubbles. When I thought of this I was lookin on the web for something similar, to see if it's really been done before. couldn't find anything too artsy, then I remembered the cut-scenes from max payne, but they're so stylized it's almost hard to tell they're photos. I'm really excited about this, it's going to be fun to do.

The other thing I want to do at the Psych is a short film. kind of a Romance-noire sortta thing. The idea is a photographer who spends most of his waking hours at the psych, so much so that he knows the security guards and they let him run around freely, meets the girl of his dreams in the shadows off the tunnels. their first encounter is fleeting as she hears security and bolts, despite his cries of "don't worry I know security here!". So his friend working security explains he's looking for an old psych patiuent who's been returning lately. So, naturally he starts to worry about this fine young female who's path he's just crossed. being the hero he packs his gear and sets out to find her again to no avail, packs it in for the day. Next time he shows up of course he runs into her again (otherwise it wouldn't be very interesting now would it) and they get to spend a little more time together, smokin a bit, shootin the shit, gettin to know eachother better. Long story short, dude falls in love and eventually it comes to light that SHE is the returning patient. Most people will figure it out by the end, but I'm gonna try a few alternate endings to see which is best. best part is my mom just got a 3CCD video camera and hopefully she'll let me use it.

All in all, I can't wait to not have to sit here chained to a fuckin desk all day. I need to get out there again, get out and explore, dig up some more sites. Travel to some sites I've been meaning to visit now that I'll have the freedom and a good excuse. I'm lookin forward to it, I feel so pent up and useless lately. it'll be nice to feel like I'm doing something productive again.
